D.H.S.K. Commerce College is one of the oldest and premier institutions of the North East India imparting commerce education since its inception. It is situated on the eastern part of Dibrugarh town in the midst of DHSK College on the one side and MDK Girls’ College, on the other side. The Railway Workshop is just in front of the college. The need for introducing commerce education in Dibrugarh was felt by the visionaries of the town as early as mid-twentieth century. To give shape to their vision, DHSK College first started commerce classes in 1945 up to the intermediate level. Soon, the demand for a full-fledged commerce college grew among the students and general public of the town which resulted in the birth of DHSK Commerce College in 1960. Initially the college was functioning from the DHSK College in the evening time. On the 23rd June, 1962, the foundation stone of the present college building was laid on its own land by Late Moraji Desai, the then Finance Minister of India. Meanwhile the Dibrugarh University came into being and started functioning from the newly constructed college building till 1968 when it was shifted to its own premises at Rajabheta. The DHSK Commerce College then shifted to its own land and building in the same year and started functioning under the able guidance and leadership of eminent educationists Late Dr. L.P. Dutta and late Dr. N.K. Basu. With this humble beginning, the college has over the years come to the present position of pride and excellence in commerce education. The college is affiliated to the Dibrugarh University for Under-graduate course and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council for Higher Secondary Course. Arizona Cinematic 2006 E Mail:
